The BENETEAU First 44 has been thoughtfully designed with two distinct deck layouts to meet a wider range of sailing preferences. The First 44 cruising version features a spacious and inviting cockpit, where wide side decks flow seamlessly into a central folding cockpit table—ideal for both comfort and functionality. Equipped with four winches, a fixed centerline mainsheet block, and an aft-positioned mast, the deck layout is optimized for performance, enhancing the efficiency of a modern sail plan characterized by a tall, slender mainsail and generously sized foresails.
To make high-level performance more accessible, BENETEAU has incorporated advanced features inspired by offshore racing technology. Drawing from its experience with the Figaro 2 and modern ballast systems, the First 44 is equipped with twin 80-gallon electronically controlled ballast tanks, operable directly from the helm. This innovation allows sailors to tap into the yacht’s full performance potential—even with a reduced crew—bringing competitive capability and ease of handling into perfect harmony.

At the heart of the salon, a six-seater dining table is positioned across from a comfortable settee and a fully equipped navigation station. Strategically placed near the mast, this layout allows for smooth, unobstructed movement between the galley and the forward owner's suite, enhancing both functionality and the sense of space.
